Race Report – Davy Crocket Classic 10th Feb 19
HAUS RACE TEAM USA DEBUT
Yes you read that right, we’re ‘repping the pink camo across the pond!
International ambassador Shawn has kick started our season in what was an exhilarating race day at the Davy Crocket Classic in Texas. The first race in any calendar is usually a nervy affair and this was no exception. Described by one relived rider as “Tip of the saddle, nail-biting action, 17-30-17 mph yo-you bull$hit stress”, Shawn displayed his usual Canuck calmness and well traveled panache to avoid two close-to-carnage calls and sprinted to a mid bunch finish in the leading pack.
An emphatic Shawn provided Eurosport with this post race analysis, describing the final run in, in only the way he can… “I rode the line and cheekily dared more, closed a small gap twice onto only to arrive to locking brakes. How the f@ck i stayed upright each time, I still don’t know. The sound of me shrieking was apparent to all, but i stayed upright and kept on pedaling in disbelief”
Congrats Shawn on the first outing of the year, we’re expecting big things from our international ambassador, so watch this space!!
